I am starting a new series today. Have picked this up over the years as a voice-worker.
Gross - Now this word has had me fighting pitched battles. I insist (and I am right) that it be pronounced as 'grow-s' to rhyme with 'borrow-s' (The 's' is mentioned separately as it should not be pronounced as 'z'). While most people in India pronounce it as 'gross' to rhyme with 'dross' or 'Ross' of Friends fame.
मिज़ाज - This is to be pronounced as 'miss-aaj' to rhyme with आज and बजाज. This is commonly mispronounced as 'mij-aaz' to rhyme with 'जहाज़'
By the way, 'miss' is to be pronounced as 'miz'.

आप क्यों नहीं इसकी ऑडियो क्लिप भी रखिये। उससे उच्चारण ज्यादा अच्छी तरह से समझ में आयेगा। लिखे रहने को समझने में कुछ उलझन रहती है।
आप चाहें तो यह वर्ड वेरीफिकेशन हटा लें। मेरी उम्र कर लोगों के लिये यह मुश्किल ही है। तीन बार टाइप करना पड़ा। चाहें तो टिप्पणी मॉडरेशन का चयन कर लें।

रहा सवाल मिसाज का. मेरी मुराद मिस का उच्चारण मिज़ करने से था. जैसा कि होता है - मिस अविवाहिता के लिये इस्तेमाल होता है और मिज़ विवाहिता और अविवाहिता दोनों के लिये इस्तेमाल किया जा सकता है. पर मै आपकी बात से सहमत हूं कि ऑडियो क्लिप से किसी भी संशय को दूर किया जा सकता है.
In fact the cofusion arose because the way it is written. I think equivalent pronunciation of ज़ in English is 'z' and you think it is 'ss'.
Providing audio clip is very easy. I do lot of podcasting too. I have an account on esnips by the name of बकबक.
