Almost hundred percent of the broad media (except KannaDa channels) refers to this man as mahl-yeah. The correct pronunciation is VJ mull-yeah or विजय  मल्या. Incidentally, his son has often complained on air about the incorrect pronounciation of his first name. He pronounces it as sid-hearth-uh mull-yeah and not sid-hearth as it is often pronounced. In fact, the authentic Kannada pronunciation of his dad's first name too is VJ-uh
